Stockholm, 2 November 2016
Tacton Systems – a leading global supplier of Configure Price Quote (CPQ) software today announced the launch of a new product – Tacton CPQ.
The solution builds on 15 plus years of CPQ experience and delivers an unprecedented depth of functionality to provide manufacturers with an end-to-end CPQ solution.
Designed to support companies in their smart manufacturing (Industry 4.0) initiatives, Tacton CPQ brings sales in closer synchronization with engineering and production than ever before.
The product is built on a brand new technology platform and is initially available in two editions – Professional and Enterprise.
The Professional Edition is ready to use and features industry-specific workflows, templates and processes to meet the needs of customers looking for a standard solution.
For companies that require a more tailored approach, the Enterprise Edition can be configured to suit unique business requirements. This “configuration not customization” approach minimizes the need for modifications and speeds up implementation.
For example, administrators can configure the user interface with drag and drop functionality and update pricing models without touching a line of code, while end-users on the sales side can configure the quotation templates to suit the needs of the communication with the customer.
Frederic Laziou, CEO of Tacton Systems commented, “We are seeing a clear trend where customers are requesting standard solutions that can be easily configured to suit their needs – rather than solutions that require customization. This has been a key driver behind Tacton CPQ. We are really excited about the launch, and expect Tacton CPQ to attract strong interest from a broad range of manufacturers, including companies that have previously viewed CPQ solutions as being too difficult and costly to implement and maintain.”
Engineer-to-Order companies will benefit from the fully integrated CAD functionality which enables automation of the sales engineering process. Other key features include the visualization capabilities which allow sales reps to show customers a live 3D visualization of their product as it is being configured.
The product is delivered SaaS and will be available both as a cloud solution and on-premise, licensed under a subscription-based model.
Nils Olsson, head of Product Development at Tacton said of the solution, “The out-of-the-box functionality and powerful configuration capabilities in Tacton CPQ, coupled with a cloud subscription model, will reduce up-front investment and system maintenance, offering our customers a faster, more affordable route to the exceptional value that CPQ can deliver.”
The beta customer for Tacton CPQ is Metso, a world leading industrial company. Metso has been live on Tacton CPQ for just over two months. Lasse Helin, Project Director at Metso comments, “We began building our Tacton CPQ solution in August 2015, and we have been happy with the speed of development and the co-operation with Tacton. We have piloted the solution for few months now in one of our sales offices and the feedback has been positive. We are now looking forward to rolling the solution out to our sales staff globally, and developing the solution further.”
